PONCHATOULA, La. (WGNO) — The Ponchatoula Police Department released the names of the individuals involved in a shooting that left two people hospitalized.
The shooting happened on Saturday, April 12 near Memorial Park where the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival was taking place.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to shots fired near the festival’s ticket booth around 9:25 p.m. Deputies arrived to find two teenage male victims.
One suffered a graze wound but the other was shot in his abdomen. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Through an investigation, PPD officers identified six suspects and issued arrest warrants for:
- 18-year-old Camryn Finley
- 18-year-old Dealvin Davis
- 18-year-old Courtney McGee
- 19-year-old Markus Dokes
- 18-year-old Quentrel Smith
- 20-year-old Quenton Smith Jr.
All suspects face a charge of terrorizing but Finely faces an additional charge of attempted second-degree murder and Davis faces a principal to attempt second-degree murder charge.
“The felony terrorizing charges relate to the suspects’ physical altercation and subsequent shootings, causing a severe disruption to the general public. These actions will not be tolerated in the City of Ponchatoula, especially at our community’s beloved festival,” said Ponchatoula Police Department officers.
They add that additional charges are forthcoming.
