GIRARDVILLE – Another local community has implemented a tax on skill games.
Girardville Borough Council approved a $250 tax on the machines at their April meeting.
The tax is part of an amusement tax ordinance, though no tax is levied on juke boxes or mechanical amusement devices.
Girardville joins several other local municipalities, including Shenandoah borough, in levying a tax on the machines.
Ryan Township discussed the potential addition of such a tax at last month’s meeting.
