Alleged DUI driver speeds through Fresno County in damaged civic
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was arrested after allegedly driving a damaged vehicle recklessly in Fresno County while under the influence, the California Highway Patrol announced.

According to CHP, on Saturday evening, night shift officers attempted to stop a Honda Civic that was traveling with major front end damage and a flat tire, however, the driver refused to stop.

Officers say despite only having three tires and the major damage, the suspected DUI driver sped through city streets and ran red lights.

As the driver sped, CHP says he managed to take out a stop sign and continued to drive despite it still hanging on.

Officers say they successfully issued a pursuit intervention and the chase came to an end. The suspected DUI driver was subsequently arrested.

CHP reminds drivers to never risk driving while impaired and encourages the public to call ride-share services or a sober friend.
