The crash occurred around 2 a.m., taking out the front portion of Hello Beautiful Boutique. No one was in the store or injured at the time of the crash.
Store owner Wendy Grimes said it appears the car was traveling on Dauphin Street, which is across from the store’s complex, crossed North Main Street and ended up inside of the store in front of the checkout register.
There is no word on the status of the driver, as store employees said the driver left the scene after the crash. Now, they are left picking up the pieces. The store is closed temporarily while a construction crew is assessing the damage and trying to make the building secure, which will most likely have to be boarded up.
The store is closed for an unknown period of time. Store employee said that’s hard to digest, as the crash happened during their typical rush of Easter shopping.
The store’s website is still open for business, however. If your purchase needs to be picked up, they will provide curbside service.
