Through this regional approach, The MICHELIN Guide will be able to go beyond the urban cities and venture into other territories to better uncover the authentic food culture of the American South. Within this edition, The Guide will cover Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and the pre-existing Atlanta Guide.
Louisiana Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser explained what the MICHELIN Guide can do for the state.
“Incredible opportunity for us. You know, we showcase our food all over the world already. Just puts that cherry on the top for international visitors, for people from all over the world who travel for great food,” said Nungesser. “A lot of them look to that guide, especially the higher-end traveler, and they look for where those MICHELIN restaurants and surely having some in Louisiana can only help our travel, our tourism industry stay.”
The MICHELIN Guide’s anonymous inspectors are already in the field, making dining reservations and scouting for culinary gems throughout the region. The full 2025 restaurant selection will be revealed at a later date during the inaugural MICHELIN Guide ceremony for the American South.
