Several homes hit by falling trees in Arkansas after thunderstorm

MILLER CO., Ark. (KTAL/KMSS) — In Miller County, a small community just south of Texarkana was devastated by the storm Saturday morning.

A trail of destruction was left on Satterfield Lane just off of Line Ferry Road. Multiple homes were hit by falling trees. Miraculously no one was hurt but immediate relief was slow because for hours downed powerlines blocked the only entrance. Residents say it came with little warning and quickly caused chaos.

“I hear winds and I look to the side of me, to the left of me out the windows and I saw branches and trees just swaying back and forth, back and forth, and I, then all of a sudden I hear 3 or 4 clicks, booms, and then I looked over in the corner of our house where our front door is, and had a tree, had a limb, had some leaking, still currently leaking too.” said Taylor Hughes who was home with her son and dog when the storm hit.

She said the house can be fixed but the most important thing is that everyone made it through safely.

“His first thought was like, the house is ruined. I’m like, well baby, you’re okay and I’m okay and the dog’s okay. So that’s all that matters.” said Taylor.
