Ahead of the storm threat, I wouldn’t cancel any plans. We stay muggy, warm & windy. Coastal flooding(1-3+ft above normal) likely to remain the main issue through Saturday.
Storm Prediction Center has placed a Slight to Enhanced Risk(Level 2 to Level 3 out of 5) for severe storms Saturday night-Sunday morning. Damaging winds, few tornadoes possible. Isolated stronger tornado risk across the ArkLaTex.
The key issue that’s still giving the forecast a bit of uncertainty is timing — some models clear this mess out of here by early morning Sunday, while other drag the system through the afternoon.
The speed will dictate rainfall totals, but right now, expecting widespread 1-3″ of rain with some hot spots of 4+ possible if the system moves a tad slower in southeast Louisiana-south Mississippi.
