Net Insight Launches Facility Connect For Seamless Multi-Facility Broadcast Workflows

Net Insight launches Facility Connect, a new solution designed to streamline and enhance multi-facility broadcast workflows. “Facility Connect provides a robust, scalable and efficient way to connect broadcast facilities, unlocking the full potential of IP-based production and ensuring seamless interoperability between locations,” the company says.

Key players in the live media ecosystem rely on multiple facilities to ensure redundancy, scalability, and operational efficiency. By distributing production across various locations, it is possible to optimize resources, enhance resilience against outages, and enable regionalized content delivery. “Facility Connect simplifies these operations by providing seamless IP media connectivity across dispersed facilities, supporting large-scale productions, remote collaboration, and dynamic resource allocation.”

The shift towards IP-based broadcasting, driven by industry standards such as TR-07, SMPTE ST 2110 and NMOS, has transformed traditional workflows by enabling:

  • Dynamic resource allocation — Balancing workloads across facilities for optimal infrastructure utilization.
  • Remote collaboration — Enabling teams to access, edit, and distribute content in real time, from any location.
  • Scalability and flexibility — Adapting quickly to new production needs without physical constraints.
  • Cost efficiency — Reducing duplication and maximize resource efficiency through centralized content management.
  • Improved disaster recovery — Redundant infrastructure ensuring business continuity in case of failures.
  • Seamless Interoperability — Managing media streams efficiently across different network environments.

While multi-facility workflows offer numerous benefits, they also present challenges such as latency, synchronization, data management complexity, and network reliability. Facility Connect is built for efficient IP media management integrating advanced media transport features to support modern workflows based on up to multiple 100G connectivity. Net Insight says that by adhering to SMPTE RP 2129 and ST 2110 standards, “it ensures seamless interoperability and high-performance connectivity across broadcast centers.

“Beyond standard IP media connectivity, Facility Connect adds robust transport capabilities to meet the high demands of premium content. With comprehensive monitoring of all streams at every processing point, broadcasters gain unparalleled visibility into their operations, simplifying fault investigation, especially in environments utilizing third-party WAN interconnections.”

Kristian Mets, Net Insight global head of sales business development, says: “Facility Connect empowers broadcasters with a more efficient and reliable way to manage multi-facility operations. By addressing the complexities of IP-based production, it enables seamless connectivity, optimized workflows, and greater resilience across locations.”
