Taylor County VFDs receive ,000 boost from Lancium, Crusoe
TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Although the Lancium Clean Campus isn’t operational yet, Taylor County is already reaping some benefits. Lancium and Crusoe have teamed up to donate $60,000 to the county’s 12 rural fire departments.

Both companies recognize the vital role of volunteer fire departments, especially since Lancium’s property falls within the coverage area of three local VFDs. To show their support, they split the donation evenly — $5,000 each — for departments including Buffalo Gap, View, ECCA, and Potosi.

View Fire Chief Ricky Bishop said donations like this are more crucial than ever, as traditional fundraisers and contributions aren’t bringing in as much as they used to.

Anytime we can get a donation, especially one like this. It’s a huge help to everybody to take a little bit of stress off trying to repair trucks, get new equipment, and just keep the lights on in the building,” Bishop shared.

These volunteer fire departments cover an area of more than 900 square miles.
