Alexandria residents urged to join Keep Louisiana Beautiful effort

ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) — Residents across Alexandria and Rapides Parish will have several opportunities to help beautify CenLa communities this April as part of the Keep Louisiana Beautiful initiative. Local organizations are teaming up to host cleanup efforts aimed at reducing litter and revitalizing neighborhoods.

The South Alexandria Revitalization Organization will kick off the effort with the Clean Up Litter Campaign on April 5 at 8 a.m., starting at 2300 Houston Street. At the same time, Alexandria Revitalization will host the Team Up to Clean Up event at 2308 Houston Street. That morning, volunteers can also participate in CleanAlex, a city-led beautification initiative, beginning at 915 3rd Street.

On April 7 at 8 a.m., the Central Louisiana Regional Chamber of Commerce and Keep Alexandria Beautiful will host Clean Biz Blitz at 1118 Third Street.

The Martin Branch Library in Pineville will offer a family-friendly cleanup event, Creative Discovery Wednesday – Love the Boot, on April 9 at 4 p.m. at 801 W. Shamrock Street.

Rapides Parish will take center stage on April 12, with two major cleanups starting at 9 a.m.:

Community members are encouraged to participate in these efforts to improve the environment and keep Louisiana beautiful. Volunteers should bring gloves, comfortable clothing, and a commitment to making a difference.
