Gene Pinkerton was booked into the Taylor County Jail Tuesday for Aggravated Assault in connection to the incident, which occurred in February.
Court documents state a victim says he was driving down Crossroads Drive when he noticed a vehicle coming toward him from the opposite direction, traveling the wrong way.
The documents reveal that when the victim stopped to avoid a collison with this vehicle, the driver, later identified as Pinkerton, got out, producted a firearm, and pointed at the victim while the victim put his hand in the air and pleasded with him to stop.
This incident, “was witnessed by [the victim’s] wife, who was in the back seat of his vehicle with their 7-month-old infant,” according to the documents.
Investigators were able to identify Pinkerton as the suspect driver due to pictures from the victim and other witnesses.
“Pinkerton has a long history of brandishing or threatening various people with firearms,” according to the documents, which state Pinkerton did leave a voicemail for the Abilene CIty Attorney admitting to using a firearm during this incident.
Pinkerton now remains held in the Taylor County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
