KSP trying to locate suspect in Hopkins County
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) reports it received a call from the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in locating a suspect who fled on foot from a collision.  

Troopers said a preliminary investigation reveals Jonathan Ray Ruby, 45, of White Plains, fled from the scene after a physical altercation when deputies arrived. Ruby is described as being 6’ 1” and 260 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing camouflage pants, a red shirt, and a black jacket.

The KSP said Ruby is considered armed and dangerous. Ruby currently has multiple felony warrants, including:

  • Fleeing or evading police
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance
  • Parole violations

Troopers say the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the KSP, Kentucky State Police Aircraft Branch, Madisonville Police Department, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Kentucky State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jonathan Ruby is asked to contact the KSP at (270) 676-3313. Citizens may also report tips confidentially through the KSP website here.

Law enforcement officials with Hopkins County have dispatched a helicopter to assist with locating Ruby.

Officials tell us they probably won’t be out searching for Ruby past nightfall.
