Michael Lee Duplechian II, 31, of Carencro was charged with carjacking, attempted second degree murder, armed robbery, intimidation of a witness and possession if a fire arm by a convicted felon, said officials.
According to the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies said these charges are related to an incident that occurred in Rayne. Duplechian is allegedly accused of setting up the victim to steal his vehicle, officials said.
During investigation, deputies said that Duplechian shot the victim during a heated confrontation. Officials said the other charges associated with this crime were part of his arrest warrant.
Duplechian has since then been incarcerated in another parish on unrelated charges and has been recently released to Acadia Parish upon his resolving of those charges.
