Alexandria Probation and Parole celebrates program graduates

Alexandria Probation and Parole celebrates program graduates
ALEXANDRIA, La. (WNTZ) – The Alexandria Probation and Parole Office, in collaboration with GEO Reentry Services, will host a graduation ceremony for individuals who have successfully completed programming at the Alexandria Day Reporting Center (DRC) on Friday, March 21. The event will take place at noon at 2112 N. Bolton Ave.

Graduates, GEO Reentry staff, family members, community partners, Department of Corrections officials, and others will gather to celebrate the accomplishments of those completing this intensive supervision program for individuals on probation and parole. The ceremony provides an opportunity for participants and their support networks to recognize the success of those who have completed the program, which is designed to reduce criminal behavior.

The Alexandria DRC offers evidence-based programming aimed at preparing individuals on probation and parole for life after jail or prison. Opened after the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections selected GEO Reentry to manage several statewide DRCs, the center focuses on breaking cycles of criminal behavior through ongoing treatment.

Program offerings include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Employment readiness and career development
  • Community Connections, linking participants with community service providers
  • Adult Basic Education and GED prep resources and referrals
  • Life skills and parenting classes
  • Drug and alcohol classes
