Teenager arrested for vandalism at Montgomery County school

UPPER MORELAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPHL) — A school in Upper Moreland Township was vandalized and now police have arrested the person they believe is involved.

According to police, an 18-year-old Upper Moreland resident was arrested for vandalism of the Upper Moreland Elementary School and nearby properties earlier this month.

The teenager was arraigned Monday afternoon and faces many charges, including multiple counts of institutional vandalism, criminal mischief, defiant trespass, simple trespass, and possession of an instrument of crime. 

The suspect is one of two people who police believe spray-painted swastikas, vulgar words, and other drawings on March 8.

Police have not yet released the suspect’s identity.
