Five arrested for burglarizing house in rural Byron

BYRON, Ill. (WTVO) — Five people, from Rockford, Poplar Grove, and Tennessee, were arrested on charges of burglarizing a house in rural Byron on Friday.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, around 6:41 p.m. deputies were called to the 10000 block of N. Kennedy Hill Road for an attempted break-in.

Police arrested Torrin Alanis, 20, of Poplar Grove, Kassidy Clark, 19, of Rockford, Olivia Fells, 19, of Poplar Grove, Ashton Pierce, 18, of Poplar Grove, and Caleb McKie, 23, of Clarksville, Tennesee, on burglary charges.

Alanis, Clark, Fells, and Pierce were processed at the Ogle County Jail and released pretrial with a notice to appear.

McKie faces additional charges of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
