ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Angelo Woods, 21, will spend 24 years and six months in prison for the 2022 killing of Devontae Simmons, 18.

Simmons was found shot to death on Pleasant Avenue on March 24th, 2022, after Woods, Shon Davis, Kenneth Alexander, and Marquzaise Alexander conspired to rob him of his gun, prosecutors said.

The shots that killed him were fired from the back seat, where Woods and Marquzaise Alexander were sitting.

Both Kenneth Alexander and Davis were convicted of Armed Robbery and sentenced to 30 years.
