Bossier falls short in Divison II Non-Select state championship against Wossman

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KTAL/KMSS) — On Saturday, Bossier boys basketball competed for what would be the program’s sixth state title, but Wossman proved to be the stronger opponent, winning 50-44.

On a 15-game win streak, the Bearkats were looking to keep their streak going. It looked like they might as Bossier dominated the first quarter.

The second quarter, Wossman found an answer. The Bearkats couldn’t find any points on the board until almost halfway through the quarter, giving time for Wossman to recover.

In the third quarter, Bossier could not overcome its issue with turnovers. The Bearkats had 13 turnovers in the third, after just four the whole first half.

Bossier kept it close all the way down to the end, but ultimately the Wildcats held on to their lead for the victory.

Bossier finishes the season 24-17, and a remarkable comeback story.
