JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for a Jackson police officer who died after experiencing a medical emergency.

Corporal Christopher Damon Gallion, Sr., 39, died on March 6, 2025, in Jackson.

The Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home announced the following arrangements for Gallion:

• Public Visitation – March 14

  • Time: 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Family & Friends Hour – March 14
  • Location: Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home
  • Time: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Funeral Service – March 15
  • Location: Word of Life Church
  • Time: 2:00 p.m.
• Interment – March 15
  • Location: Autumn Woods Memorial Gardens
  • Time: 4:00 p.m.

Jackson police announced a balloon release will be held in Gallion’s honor at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13 at Precinct One on Cooper Road.
