New Andretti Global President talks move into former IndyStar printing facility

INDIANAPOLIS — The Pulliam Production Center closed nearly a year ago, but looks like it could’ve been shut down last week.

The PPC printed the IndyStar since 2001, a majority of the old mechanics are still in the facility. The room housing the three-story printing press is an eerie sight. The press rises 30-feet in the dark room. Some of the lights still work but others are flickering over the huge machine.

The lifeless building will soon get a new tenant, though.

”This is going to be the future home of Andretti Global,” said Jill Gregory, the president of Andretti Global.

The size of the facility will be a major upgrade over the current Andretti Global HQ on Zionsville Road.

”There is no shortage of space,” Gregory said. “There is an amazing mix of production and manufacturing capabilities which we need for the race team and the competition guys, but there is also a ton of office space that we need to really run the day to day operations of the team.”

Andretti Global will bring its INDYCAR, IndyNXT and Formula E teams all under this same roof.

”You’ve got shared knowledge, you’ve got different experiences and perspectives,” Gregory said. “So, to have everybody here in one spot, but also with enough room to move around, I think that’s going to be a huge addition.”

The printing plant has barely changed since its final day of operation in April 2024. Gregory said they are working closely with Gannett, IndyStar’s parent company, for the mechanics inside the building to be moved out.

From there, you’ll see big time upgrades to the building like new offices, window openings, passenger car elevator, expanded truck entrances and more.

”What you’re going to see behind us is race bays, cars being built, different parts and pieces being built,” Gregory said. “Up above, you’ll be able to be on catwalk to look down at the shop floor, so if you want to bring partners or fans in, they’ll be able to have that bird’s eye view of what’s happening on the shop floor.”

The renovations at the former Pulliam Production Center are just one of two huge building projects Andretti Global is involved in right now. Work continues on a 400,000 square foot facility in Fishers near the Indianapolis Municipal Airport.

”That came from the ground up in Fishers and that will be the us home of the Cadillac Formula One team which was announced on Friday and will be officially joining the grid in 2026,” Gregory said.

It’s a busy time as Gregory takes on her first INDYCAR season as Andretti Global President. She’s also the only female team president in INDYCAR.

”I’ve never really looked at it that way,” Gregory said. “I’m just here to do a good job and deliver what we want to deliver on. So, if I happen to be the first female INDYCAR president, that’s great, but we have a job to do and it’s going to be irrelevant how we get there. We want to perform on the race track, we want to be the best to our partners, we want to be best race team to our fans and that’s what were focused on.”

Gregory said Andretti Global plans to be completely moved into their new Georgetown Rd. HQ in late June.
