Celebrating Women’s History Month with the National Constitution Center

March is Women’s History Month and the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia is celebrating women past and present. Highlighting the trailblazers and game changers who shaped our nation. Jenna Kehres, the associate VP of museum experience at the National Constitution Center joined us in the PHL17 studio to talk to us about some of the exhibits they have this month and some of the fun activities you can take part in.

One of the exhibits:

The Four Harriets of History

10:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.; The Story of We the People, Second Floor
Explore the lives of four American women—Harriet Robinson Scott, Harriet Tubman, Harriet Jacobs, and Harriet Beecher Stowe—who confronted slavery through literature, lawsuits, and direct action in their efforts to free themselves and others from bondage.

On their website they write, “Throughout Women’s History Month, the Center recognizes extraordinary American women throughout history, including those featured in our exhibit, The 19th Amendment: How Women Won the Vote. Through engaging on-site and online activities, we’ll look at the accomplishments of American women who fought for freedom, equality, and equal rights for all Americans.”
