HAMMOND, LA (KTAL/KMSS) — On Saturday, Parkway looked to come home with its third straight state champion title, but ultimately fell short in its pursuit, losing to Zachary 56-41.
The game was back and forth throughout most of the game. Parkway held Zachary to just eight points in the second and went into halftime with a small lead.
The game really came down to the fourth quarter. Zachary put up 20 points in that time alone, leaving Parkway without an answer, not scoring a bucket in the final three and a half minutes.
Leading scorers for Parkway were Dakota Howard with 18 points and Savannah Wilson with 11 points.
