1 dead in Salt Lake City motorcycle crash, road closure in place
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A motorcyclist was killed in an crash in Salt Lake City Saturday evening, according to Salt Lake City Police.

At around 6:15 p.m. on March 1, a motorcyclist reportedly collided with a pickup truck at 1700 South State Street. Authorities arrived on scene to find the motorcyclist in critical condition.

Paramedics took the individual to the hospital where he later died.

The pickup driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

“We are diverting all southbound traffic on State Street at Kensington Avenue,” SLCPD posted on X. “Westbound traffic on 1700 South is being diverted to northbound State Street.”

This crash marks the second traffic-related fatality in Salt Lake City for 2025.
