SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A woman has been arrested in the alleged stabbing of a man in Shreveport Wednesday night.
According to a press release from the Shreveport Police Department, officers responded to the 2600 block of Greenwood Road in reference to a reported stabbing just after 7 p.m. Police say upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from a serious neck wound.
Police say the victim was losing consciousness and this prompted the officers to gather information quickly on the incident.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the attack occurred at a local gas station in the 2400 block of Lakeshore Drive. Police say the victim was inside his vehicle when a Black female suspect approached, opened his car door, and questioned his presence in the area. Allegedly she then stabbed him in the neck according to police.
Despite his injuries, the victim was able to drive himself to a local hospital, where police say he is expected to recover.
Officers gathered and reviewed surveillance footage, which led them to identify the suspect as Laronda Nabors. Officers arrested Nabors and recovered the weapon used in the attack. She faces one count of aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon.
This case remains under investigation.
