SPD releases suspect from Walgreens shooting case

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Shreveport police have contacted, interviewed, and released a suspect in a Walgreens shooting case that left a pharmaceutical delivery driver dead.

The pharmaceutical delivery driver was shot multiple times in the Walgreen’s parking lot on Jan. 22. He later succumbed to his wounds.

Two days later, the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s office released a note about a suspect in the Walgreens shooting.

“The Caddo Parish District Attorney’s office wishes to share that Larry Lewis is wanted by Shreveport police for his involvement in a murder Wednesday Jan. 22, 2025 in the Walgreen’s parking lot on Line Avenue,” the release stated.

For days, the Shreveport Police Department’s Homicide Unit actively searched for Larry Lewis. Larry Lewis was apprehended because of tips from members of the community. He was interviewed and released by homicide investigators, but SPD says the investigation is still ongoing.

SPD investigators have Kelvin Lewis in custody.

SPD is working to ensure they have enough evidence to support “a case that will withstand the judicial process.”
