3 suspected of armed robbery arrested after car chase ends in Matteson

MATTESON, Ill. — Three people suspected of armed robbery in Chicago are in police custody following a car chase that ended in the city’s south suburbs, Illinois State Police troopers said Monday.

According to ISP, troopers assisted the Chicago Police Department and the Sauk Village Police Department with pursuit of a vehicle in the area of Illinois 394 and Route 30 following the armed robbery.

ISP said the pursuit continued through the south suburbs, before ending near Vollmer Road and Central Avenue, in Matteson.

Authorities detained the three suspects after they fled on foot from the vehicle.

No one was injured.

Chicago police says its department will head the investigation.
