82-year-old woman struck, killed in Santa Clara intersection

SANTA CLARA, Utah (ABC4) — An 82-year-old woman was struck and killed in a Santa Clara intersection Friday night, according to Santa Clara-Ivins Public Safety.

At around 6:50 p.m. on Feb. 7, authorities responded to a report of an accident at the intersection of Pioneer Parkway and Jacob Drive in Santa Clara.

First responders arrived on scene to find a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle. The victim — described as an 82-year-old woman — was taken to the St. George Regional Hospital, where she died from her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle reportedly stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.

The Santa Clara-Ivins Police Department and Washington County Metro Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating this incident. The identity of the victim has not been released.
