Delivery driver dies after being pinned between vehicle and garage

WEBER COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A delivery driver died in the hospital after being pinned between a vehicle and a residential garage, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.

The delivery driver has been identified by officials as Amy Tennant, 54. Officials said deputies first responded to a report of cardiac arrest in Ogden Valley.

“The Investigation into this case has revealed no evidence of foul play,” the sheriff’s office said. “It appears the driver being pinned by the vehicle was the result of an accident, and not due to the actions of any other person.”

The sheriff’s office said the person who called 911 reportedly found Tennant unconscious and pinned between the vehicle and the garage. The caller was able to move the vehicle before officials arrived.

When officials arrived at the scene, they began lifesaving measures before Tennant was transported to an area hospital for further treatment. On Tuesday, Feb. 11, the sheriff’s office was notified that Tennant had died in the hospital.

Tennant worked for a company that contracted with the postal service for deliveries, the sheriff’s office said. The vehicle involved in the incident was said to be privately owned.

“Our hearts are with the family and loved ones of the deceased,” the sheriff’s office said.

No additional information about the situation was released by officials. The investigation is ongoing.
