ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries officials released the details of a recent crash that left three boaters injured.
On Tuesday, Feb. 11, LDWF agents were alerted around 4:30 p.m. of two vessels colliding in Bayou Bonfouca. Involved were a 16-foot-boat with three occupants and a 19-foot-boat with two occupants towing a water ski.
As a result of the crash, all three passengers of the 16-foot-boat were injured with two being ejected into the water without floatation devices.
Passengers in the other boat were able to rescue the three and bring them to an ambulance with two enroute to Lakeview Hospital in Mandeville and the other to University Medical Center in New Orleans.
The others boaters reportedly did not need medical attention.
The cause of the crash remains unknown as it remains under investigation.
