Police: Juvenile suffers head injury after altercation in north Abilene

The incident allegedly happened while two juveniles were walking down the 1400 block of Kirkwood Street Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they have received conflicting reports about the incident. Officers initially responded to reports of gunshots in the area, but when they arrived on scene, they found one of the juveniles was suffering from an apparent superficial head injury.

Once transported to the hospital, police say medical personnel were able to treat the victim’s injury and determine it was from blunt force trauma, not a gunshot wound.

“There was conflicting information provided by the involved juveniles about the possible suspect description and circumstances of what occurred,” according to a press release from the Abilene Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
