Despite enduring cancellations and delays, most of Abilene was excited to see the first snowfall for the area yesterday. This morning we are still seeing a few light areas of snow to the east and est of the Big Country but the bulk of the moisture has exited the picture. Temperatures this morning here were right around 33 degrees and through the afternoon on Friday they are expected to be on the increase. We will see the rest of the remaining snow on road and grassy surfaces thaw out by the afternoon hours. We are left with the memory of this snow and look forward to a repeat performance soon as winter and the month of January marches on in the area. In the meantime, we will have time to think about it as highs into next week will rise into the 50’s and possibly the lower 60’s by Thursday of next week.
