Coach Jay Johnson said in August that the team had been invited to the White House after their eighth College World Series title win.
The Tigers defeated Coastal Carolina in Game 2 of the series finals, 5-3, earning their eighth College World Series title. The win was Johnson’s second national title in three seasons at LSU.
According to LouisianaSports.net, the visit is set for Monday. An LSU spokesperson said a formal announcement regarding the trip is expected later this week.
Players will get their championship rings on Oct. 25, the same day as the LSU vs. Texas A&M football game.
