NOPD: Robber used RTA bus for getaway

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest a man who is accused of committing an armed robbery then leaving the scene in an RTA bus. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

According to police, the robbery happened around 4:50 a.m. on June 4 in the 4100 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Police also released some security camera images that show the alleged suspect.

Police said the robber wore all-black clothing and used a gun to rob his victim. Police did not say what was stolen.

The security camera footage includes images of the man waiting to get onto the bus after the robbery as well as paying the fare. Police also say a tattoo on the man’s right arm could help identify him.
