
HOUMA, La. (WGNO) — The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains in a wooded area near Alma Street and Richard Drive, according to Sheriff Tim Soignet.
According to TPSO deputies, they responded to the area after reports of the remains were received, in which they confirmed the presence of the remains of a deceased individual. Detectives and crime scene investigators were called to initiate the investigation.
“Our detectives have continued to work this investigation steadily since the discovery,” Soignet said. “This is a certainly unique and complex case, but I have confidence that our team will do what is necessary to uncover the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.”
