ST. TAMMANY PARISH (WGNO) — People in St. Tammany Parish gathered to remember Hurricane Katrina.
Parish President Mike Cooper dedicated the first Hurricane Katrina memorial site in the parish. It will serve as a reminder of the devastation and how the parish rebuilt.
“In the 20 years since Katrina, we have not simply rebuilt, but we are smarter, stronger and more united,” Cooper said.
The memorial site is located at Camp Salmen Nature Park in Slidell.
