BELLE CHASSE, La. (WGNO) — Plaquemines Parish business owners went to Baton Rouge to convince the state to keep tolls suspended on the Belle Chasse Bridge.
The tolls were suspended by Gov. Jeff Landry on Oct. 2. Business owners said the tolls were killing business but since they were removed, they say things have improved.
“Well, guess what happened to our sales at the beginning of October? You can see at the lowest point, that’s where the tolls were suspended. Immediately the tolls, when they were removed, my sales went up and as of November first we’re back to normal,” Amelia Vujinovich said.
