NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A Halloween-themed concert that will have you dancing the night away, a gourmet dinner that celebrates and honors our city’s hospitality workers and a spirited drag brunch are all on tap in the Crescent City! Here are Where Yat’s weekend picks!
- First, can you believe that mummies can be funky? With Halloween just around the corner, don’t miss seeing the band Here Come the Mummies on Thursday at The Joy Theater.
Their “Terrifying Funk from Beyond the Grave” is sure to make your bones rattle!
- Next, dine out on Friday night, Sept. 5 for a good cause, as the Gold Medal Chefs Gala & Hospitality Awards dinner takes place at the Hilton Riverside. Acknowledging the best of the local service industry, the event benefits the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation with a multi-course dinner, live auction and more.
- If you like your brunch with a show, then head to Felix’s Restaurant & Oyster Bar in the French Quarter on Saturday, Sept. 6, and enjoy its Mama Honey’s Drag Brunch. Expect amazing drag entertainers, delicious food like the Rockefeller Omelet and bottomless mimosas.
- Finally, art lovers won’t want to miss the First Saturday art walk, on Sept. 6 in the Arts District. Taking place on Julia Street and other spots in the Warehouse District, visitors can peruse new exhibit openings. Visit the Arts District New Orleans’ website for a full list of participating galleries.
