
Barktoberfest will be held at the Laurel Valley Plantation on Sunday, Oct. 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. According to a news release, it is a community-driven outdoor festival held annually, dedicated to supporting HOPE for Animals, a rescue organization in South Louisiana. The event aims to bring people and pets together to celebrate local culture and compassion.
There will be a mix of Cajun music, local food and other vendors. Guests can enjoy cold brews soft drinks. One dollar from every snowball purchase supports local causes.
Other event highlights include a dog zone filled with games for pups, a dog costume contest and a dog parade. Local vendors will offer crafts, pet supplies and unique goods.
Admission is $5 per person. Children under five and pets enter free. All proceeds benefit HOPE for Animals.
