Around 9:20 a.m., deputies were called to the scene in the 1200 block of Aberdeen Drive. The investigation led deputies to a red vehicle in the 1300 block of Lochlomand Drive with bullet holes through the back window.
Inside the vehicle deputies found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Further investigation revealed the victim was reportedly was shot while driving cause him to crash into surrounding unoccupied cars.
A nearby resident told WGNO crews he heard the shots and that it was frightening because his family was outside at the time.
No further details are available at this time. JPSO deputies are in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.
The Jefferson parish Coroner’s Office will released the victim’s identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
This is the second homicide to happen within 12 hours. The first happened in Avondale at 12 a.m. and deputies has a suspect in custody.
