The concert, previously planned to be at Woldenberg Park, will now be held at Champions Square next to the Superdome. Another tour stop in South Carolina also changed its location to a larger venue.
In addition to a venue change, Louisiana native Lainey Wilson will now join the band for the New Orleans show. Wilson hails from Baskin, Louisiana and won Best Country Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
According to a news release, the four-date train tour was originally conceived as a way to reimagine how artists tour and perform. Each show will feature new music and collaborations. Mumford & Sons previously executed this idea in 2011.
“We felt we had some unfinished business on the great American railroad,” said lead singer Marcus Mumford. “So, we’ve spent a lot of time cooking up this idea for another rolling festival to rip through the south and east of the U.S., picking up exactly where we left off in New Orleans and ending in Vermont.”
More details and tickets for the tour can be found on the Mumford & Sons website.
