MANDEVILLE, La. (WGNO) — An investigation is underway after a man allegedly exchanged gunfire with St. Tammany Parish deputies, and a woman was found dead on Friday, June 20.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a call of a woman being shot on Jasmine Street. At the scene, STPSO officials said a man exited the home and allegedly began shooting at deputies.
STPSO officials said deputies returned fire after the man “resumed firing upon deputies” after attempts to ask him to put the weapon down.
During the investigation, STPSO deputies said they found a woman dead inside the home. The male was taken to a hospital.
