Investigation ongoing after teen shot, killed in St. James Parish
PAULINA, La. (WGNO) — A teenager is dead following a shooting in St. James Parish and deputies are asking for the public’s help in the investigation.

According to the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office, at 8:40 p.m. on Aug. 6, deputies were called to the 3000 block of Highway 642 in Paulina, on a report of a 16-year-old shot in the area.

The caller reportedly told deputies that they heard a vehicle speed off after.

Deputies arrived and found the teen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They began life saving efforts until EMS arrived and took him to a hospital.

At 9:42 p.m., the teen was pronounced dead.

Due to the victim’s age, the teen’s identity has not been released.
