NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A Terrytown woman is in police custody following a fatal crash on the Crescent City Connection Bridge on Saturday, Oct. 4.
Louisiana State Police reported that at 3:30 a.m., they were alerted to a crash on US 90B near General De Gaulle Drive.

Troopers said as Scott approached General De Gaulle Drive, she struck the back of the motorcycle seriously injuring Thompson, who was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash
He was taken to a hospital in critical condition but on Sunday, Oct. 12, Thompson died from his injuries.
Further investigation revealed Scott allegedly attempted to flee the scene but was quickly found in the disabled Acura on the exit ramp.
While on scene, troopers stated Scott showed signs of alleged impairment. She submitted a breath sample that allegedly showed a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.
She was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on charges of vehicular negligent injuring, driving while intoxicated, reckless operation and hit-and-run. An arrest warrant was also obtained for vehicular homicide.
The crash remains under investigation.
“Far too often, Troopers see the tragic results of preventable crashes. Louisiana State Police urge motorists to plan ahead before consuming alcohol. Impaired driving, whether from alcohol, drugs, or both, is dangerous and can have deadly consequences. Always avoid driving or riding with an impaired driver; ensure all passengers are properly restrained; when riding motorcycles, always wear a DOT-approved helmet; and always stay focused on the road. Making responsible choices can save lives,” said LSP Troop B.
