Cops Cycling For Survivors To Honor More Than 300 Indiana Officers During 25th Annual Ride

ELLETTSVILLE, Ind. (WOWO) — Cops Cycling for Survivors has announced its 25th annual bicycle tour across Indiana, along with the unveiling of newly updated memorial photos on its support truck — an emotional and deeply meaningful tribute recognized in connection with National Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15, 2026.

The 13-day, nearly 1,000-mile ride this July will honor every Indiana law enforcement officer who has died in the line of duty while continuing the organization’s mission of supporting the survivors they leave behind.

The support truck, which travels the entire route with the cyclists, displays portraits of recently fallen officers as well as anniversary memorials recognizing others. For survivors, the vehicle is widely regarded as hallowed ground — a rolling memorial carrying the stories, sacrifices, and legacies of their loved ones into every community the ride touches.

Many survivors describe placing a hand on the photo of their officer, sharing a quiet message, or reflecting in silence beside the truck as a meaningful part of their healing journey.

In 2025, two new heroes were officially added to Indiana’s roll of honor and will receive special recognition during the tour:

Reserve Deputy Sheriff John C. Stahl III, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office — End of Watch: June 8, 2025
Corporal Blake Adair Reynolds, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office — End of Watch: Nov. 12, 2025

Their memorial photos have been added to the support truck with the same care, reverence, and respect extended to every fallen officer honored by the organization.

Founded in 2002 with an inaugural ride to Washington, D.C., Cops Cycling for Survivors has grown into a statewide mission dedicated to ensuring Indiana’s fallen officers are never forgotten. Throughout the journey, riders meet with survivors, read memorial tributes for each fallen officer, and reaffirm their commitment to carrying forward the stories of the more than 500 Indiana heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Survivors — including family members, colleagues, and descendants — who wish to connect with the organization are encouraged to reach out.
