Illinois law on credit card fees faces new challenge after federal ruling

A federal agency has ruled that Illinois cannot limit credit card swipe fees charged by banks. This decision by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, or OCC, complicates a state law already facing appeals from bank associations.
