Titan Books has revealed The Art of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, the latest in its long-running series of gaming-themed art books. This volume offers a glimpse behind the scenes of the development of the game, revealing how the original Black Flag was reinvented for this new, remastered version.

IGN can exclusively debut the cover art to The Art of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced. Check it out below:

The Art of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is written by Paul Davies, who also penned the previous The Art of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and other books like Awakening: The Art of Halo 4 and The Art of Deus Ex Universe.

Here’s Titan’s official description of the new book:

This highly visual, illustrated book features selected artwork and behind-the-scenes content showing the evolution of the game from original release to the remake. Discover a curated collection of artwork reimagining the world of Edward Kenway, faithfully remade with increased fidelity through the power of modern art technologies.

Whether journeying through the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy, parkouring over lively streets and rooftops in 18th-century Havana, or deep diving shark-infested shipwrecks, this inspiring concept art featuring high fidelity characters, photorealistic textures, high resolution ships, and immersive environment art, all beautifully lit by dynamic lighting, retells the adventures of the beloved pirate assassin with a bold new clarity. Accompanying each piece is the artist’s unique thought process in their own words.

The Art of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is a 192-page hardcover priced at $50. The book will be released on July 14, 2026.

In other Assassin’s Creed news, Ubisoft revealed more details about the game at the The Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: Worldwide Reveal Showcase. The game will add new story quests and characters, but it’s cutting out the present-day sections of the original version, which has some Assassin’s Creed fans upset.
