Concord man dead in wooded area by Cumberland Farms after reported overdose

A Concord man was found dead in a wooded area by North Main Street last week after a reported overdose, according to the Concord Police Department.

On Thursday, April 16, officers received a report that a male subject was experiencing an overdose near the Cumberland Farms at 196 North Main St. At the scene, officers located the man, identified as Jonathan Glidden, and determined that he was deceased, according to police.

Glidden was 43 years old.

An obituary notes Glidden grew up in Claremont before moving to Concord and, later, the Homestead Inn, a sober house for men recovering from substance use disorder in Boscawen.

Since 2022, overdose deaths have steadily decreased in New Hampshire, falling 19% over three years, according to a report by the state’s Drug Overdose Fatality Review Commission. Even so, overdose deaths continue to be most common among men ages 30 to 59.

The investigation into Glidden’s death is active and ongoing, and the cause and manner of his death have not yet been determined, according to police. Concord Police have requested that anyone with information that may be pertinent to the investigation contact the department at (603) 225-8600.

If you need help, call or text the New Hampshire Crisis Line operated by the Department of Health and Human Services at 988, or call or text (833) 710-6477 to reach the New Hampshire Rapid Response Access Point.
