GatesAir Adds Two AirWatch365 Service Support Engineers Ahead Of NAB Show

GatesAir, a provider of wireless, over-the-air content delivery solutions for radio and TV broadcasters, expanded its Global Services team with two engineering hires ahead of the NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 18-22.

Scott Vince joined the company Feb. 23 and Chris Abbott is set to start April 20. Both will serve as service support engineers on the Global Services team with an emphasis on supporting AirWatch365 customers. AirWatch365 will debut as a global managed service offering April 19 in Booth C1046.

GatesAir said the additions reflect its continued investment in service as it scales support for broadcasters worldwide, including traditional RF systems, IP-based infrastructure and emerging managed service models.

Vince most recently was an RF transmitter engineer with Hearst Television, maintaining high-power transmitters, microwave systems and IP networks across a multi-state footprint. His background includes troubleshooting, network configuration, FCC compliance and system modernization, as well as earlier roles in high-reliability environments including electronics testing and U.S. Air Force avionics operations.

Abbott brings experience in broadcast engineering leadership and network operations. He was a senior broadcast engineer with Vertical Bridge and earlier was director of NOC and Tier 2 support at iHeartMedia, leading large-scale monitoring environments and 24/7 support operations. His background includes automated monitoring and alarm correlation, incident response and oversight of engineering teams maintaining critical broadcast infrastructure.

“We are excited to welcome Scott and Chris to the GatesAir team,” said Brent Whelan, GatesAir VP of global services. “Scott’s deep hands-on experience with RF transmission systems and field operations, combined with Chris’s leadership in network operations and large-scale monitoring, enhances our ability to support customers whether on-site, remotely or across complex multi-site networks.”

In their roles, Vince and Abbott will handle troubleshooting, system optimization, remote support and field service. GatesAir said their experience will help advance its service offerings, including AirWatch365, by marrying RF expertise with centralized monitoring to drive long-term customer value.
