BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — April 14, 2026
Hoosier Hills Career Center’s Agriculture Department and FFA Chapter will hold their annual student-run plant sale April 30 through May 2, offering a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, flowers and house plants to the public.
The sale will take place at the greenhouse next to Hoosier Hills Career Center, 3070 N. Prow Road in Bloomington. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 30; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 1; and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2.
According to Katie Frew, agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Hoosier Hills Career Center, students start the plants each year from seed and young plugs, then care for them daily as they grow.
Students manage more than 75 varieties of plants while learning plant care, customer service, marketing and teamwork. Frew said FFA members also spend extra time after school organizing plants, labeling items for sale, deadheading and pinching flowers, and keeping everything watered in preparation for the sale.
This year’s sale will include vegetables, herbs, annuals, perennials, house plants and succulents. Students will also offer planter boxes and hanging baskets ready for display or for Mother’s Day gifts.
Members of the public can support the sale by submitting a pre-order form by April 24 or by shopping during public sale hours. All plants will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
The sale will accept cash, checks, credit and debit cards, as well as tap-to-pay options.
During the event, visitors will also have a chance to meet the students who helped grow and prepare the plants for sale.
Updates and photos are available through the Hoosier Hills FFA website and the group’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
