Edge automates data movement and synchronization between a central hub and remote edge locations so users can pull data once, cache it locally and work at LAN speeds, with changes syncing back to the source of truth. The platform is designed to support 4K/8K workflows, policy-based data tiering and governance controls across multi-site, remote and hybrid cloud environments.
“OpenDrives Edge represents an important step forward for us as a company,” said Alex Dunfey, OpenDrives CTO. “We’re expanding beyond high-performance storage toward delivering complete data services.”
The first phase of Edge is available now via the Atlas platform’s Containers Marketplace, with connections to AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure; Oracle Cloud support is planned. OpenDrives said future releases will add expanded caching, multi-site control and certified hardware options, including deployment on customer servers and additional cloud compute.
“Our customers are evolving with the times, and so we must evolve with them,” said Trevor Morgan, OpenDrives CEO. “Traditional storage can’t keep up with modern, video‑intensive workflows.”
OpenDrives will demonstrate Edge at two West Hall locations: public demos at the Sports Business Hub pod W3443-E and semi-private meetings at Cabana W1158. Meetings can be booked here.
